Food Born Diseases

Many of the diseases we suffer from originate from our body reacting to the damage caused by multiple years of eating foods it is not scientifically designed to eat.

The Western Diet, also known as the Standard American Diet (SAD), predominantly consists of highly processed, high fat, low phytonutrient, low fiber foods. Eaten once in a while (<10% diet) - probably not going to be a problem. But when these foods become the mainstay of our daily lives, that's when we set ourselves up for all kinds of medical issues.

Initially we eat SAD foods and feel fine, but at the molecular level, the damage is already happening.  Over time the symptoms start to reveal themselves.

Many symptoms are gentle warning signs that something isn't right.  If we continue to ignore things the symptoms get worse and the ailments more serious - often requiring major medical intervention, and worse case, killing us - sometimes suddenly and without warning (widow-maker heart attacks being a good example).

But here's the GOOD NEWS!

We don't need to get any of these diseases if we learn to take proper care of ourselves, and many of these food born diseases are REVERSIBLE when we're open to building new eating / wellbeing habits.

More food for thought....

Food born diseases don't happen in isolation.  Quiet often someone will have two or more "unrelated" ailments occurring at the same time.

Example: T2 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.
Example:  High blood pressure and gall stones.

------

Many food born diseases can trigger cascading effects if the source of the problem isn't addressed.

Example: diverticulosis can lead to diverticulitis, which can then turn into a perforated diverticulum.
Example: constipation can lead to hemorrhoids or hernias.

------
The common denominator is what's being eaten!
FIX THE FOOD, FIX THE PROBLEM.
